Brian and Christa Yak, a husband-and-wife duo who met in 2008 while studying music at Belmont University in Nashville, TN, are the founders of For the Fatherless. Married in 2013, they bonded over their shared experiences of growing up fatherless—Christa losing her father to a brain tumor at age seven, and Brian being abandoned by his biological father but later adopted into a loving home. Through their music and worship, they share their stories of healing and redemption, inspired by the perfect love of God who adopts us as His children, as reflected in John 17:23 and 1 John 3:1. With original songs like "God of Generations," they seek to answer Jesus’ prayer by revealing the Father’s love, singing as those who are fatherless no more.
